I explore the boundaries between line and plane, between black and white, between flat and space, between order and chaos.
My work starts by making sketches of modest subjects: a clod of roots, a dried leave, the shadow of a branche. From expressive lines I  create exiting shapes. The black and white become vivid by the tones of grey that connect  them or by just that one contrasting colour that I adds. As for the flat and the space: my sculptures are related to reliefs while my drawings evoluate into three dimensional objects.

I start in a classical way with a sketch on paper but I get away from the plane by remodelling the drawings into papercuts: I accurately cut away the empty space from the drawings, after that I pin up the drawings, at some distance of the bearer so that it creates a physical depth. Besides the depth that already was present in the drawings, the light enters through the holes, the drawings get exiting shadows, create space and a new playfulness.
